Announcement on Adjustment of Publication Fees for Research in Media and Communication

2026-03-23

Dear Authors and Readers,

We sincerely thank you for your continued support and interest in our journal.

In order to further enhance the academic quality of the journal, improve the manuscript review, editorial processing, and publication workflow, and respond to the rising costs of publishing and operation in recent years, the journal has carefully considered and decided to adjust its publication model.

1. Adjustment Details

Effective 23 March 2026, the journal will transition from a no-fee publication model to a publication fee model. A publication fee of HKD 1,000 per accepted manuscript will be charged. The fee will be collected only after the manuscript has successfully passed peer review and has been formally accepted for publication.

2. Basic Principles

  • The journal remains committed to prioritizing academic quality. All manuscripts will continue to undergo a rigorous peer-review process;
  • The collection of publication fees is not linked to the acceptance of manuscripts. There is no “pay-to-publish” practice;
  • The journal will maintain a professional and prudent approach to ensure fairness and integrity in the publication process.

3. Submission and Review Process

The current submission and peer-review procedures remain unchanged. Authors may continue to submit manuscripts through the journal’s official website or designated submission channels. Please refer to the official guidelines for submission requirements.

4. Additional Notes

  1. This adjustment only concerns the publication fee arrangement and does not affect the academic evaluation standards of manuscripts;
  2. The journal will continue to enhance content quality and academic impact, as well as improve its services;
  3. For any inquiries, please contact the Editorial Office through the official contact channels.

5. Effective Date

This announcement shall take effect on 23 March 2026.

We sincerely appreciate the understanding and continued support from the academic community. The journal will remain committed to promoting scholarly communication and development.
